I don't have to say almost anymore.

I have a friend that has been making fun of me for saying that, "I'm almost 30." Someone asked me about 6 months ago how old I was and I said, "almost 30." Well consider me almost no more. Today was my 30th birthday.

I started the day off with sleeping in. At the age of 20 this would have been 10 a.m. at the age of 30 it was 7:30. No matter the time it felt great. When I finished drying my hair I could smell the cinnamon rolls waiting for me in the kitchen. I came down to some gorgeous tulips that happened to matched my shirt, a few cards, a bag with a gift certificate inside, and an ice cream cake.
Ellis was supposed to keep the cake a surprise but he couldn't contain himself so we had ice cream cake shortly after we finished our breakfast.

Trevor had to reschedule a Lock-In for tonight so we had to pack in the b-day festivities into the morning routine.

After some time with Dad we packed up our lunches and headed to the park for some fun with friends. Ellis has been wanting to do this forever so he had a blast. It was the perfect park for Alaire and Ellis' age. I was only a teensy bit nervous letting Alaire play on the climbing stuff all on her own.

Ericka even made me the cutest cake!

Here are all of the crazies, minus three babies that slept through most of the fun.

When we got home we played with dad for a few minutes and then we all took naps. Trevor had to get up half way through nap time and make his way in to the church to get everything ready for tonight but my sweet little babies took possibly the longest dual naps on record (1-4:45). What a great birthday present!! Once they woke up we headed into town to take Trevor some movies he had forgotten and then headed for dinner. I got to choose. I am not crazy enough to attempt an actual restaurant on my own with those two so I picked Boston Market. You may think I'm crazy but I love that place and Trevor will endure it so since he wasn't with us I thought I would get my fix! Ellis was starving but at about 3 bites in he looked up at me and said, "wow mom you picked the best birthday eating place ever."

Sounds like you had a good birthday! :)
I laughed out loud when I read that your sleeping in was 7:30am... God bless you for getting up earlier than that everyday!

What great friends. I'm glad you didn't have to spend the whole evening by yourself. I feel your pain about 730 being considered sleeping in, I did that this morning and that's when I got up too! Enjoy another year!

All these pictures have something funny I wish to comment about:
pic #1 - this picture was probably taken after the
seventh time of telling Ellis, "YES! you have
to share your cake with Alaire.

pic #2 - If you magnify this picture you can clearly
see that dad added the candles...taking
the big #0 and adding 3 candles to equal
30!

pic #3 - Ellis is pushing a kid on a bike with train-
ing wheels. I find that comical.

pic #4 - I see the hand steading the horse and feel
secure that someone could have caught her
should she have fallen.

pic #5 - I lied...nothing funny about this pic.

pic #6 - Ellis and Alaire always have each others
back...they are kicking it together. Alaire
trying to do what Ellis does.

pic #7 - I didn't know our house could be that dark
Don't worry we brought a cake to light
things up!

These are my thoughts and also wanted to apologize for having a lock-in on your birthday. Thanks for always letting me do ministry and even on your very special day!
