Rope World

One of my friends invited us to go to Rope World tonight. An elementary in town holds it in their gym every once in a while. It is a climbers dream. Ellis was so excited he could hardly contain himself and he didn't even know what he was going to be doing. It is basically just a bunch of ropes and ladders that they can climb, swing, and walk across.

Alaire did as much as she could and in a year or two this will be the perfect place to take her so she can get the climbing itch out and then we hopefully won't find her out on the roof or on top of the swings at the playground. Her favorite was probably the maze of tubes or the ladders. She wore herself out and was asleep before her head hit the mattress.

I love their faces in this one!

I was kind of nervous when we got there because Ellis is usually very shy and timid. When he doesn't think he can do something he refuses to even try and if he gets scared in the middle of it he freaks out and it can be hard to calm him down. He usually doesn't like to try things that are new when people are watching and he really doesn't want someone he doesn't know to try to help him.

At first it was exactly what I was expecting but as soon as Trevor talked him into the zip line and the gym teacher helped him do it things took a 180 turn. The teacher was awesome and as soon as Ellis had done it you could see his confidence had increased. From there he moved to the rope bridge and I couldn't believe how excited he was!

Here he is waiting in line. Check out that face trying to contain himself.

Something tells me we will return!

That is a NEAT place. I always liked climbing. Perhaps Ellis gets that from me. I used to climb trees in my yard and around the neighborhood. That looked like Ellis was having a great time. Love Ya!
