The HOA saga continues

Last year we were guilty and it looks like this year is going to be no different. Oh the horror of it! How could we? Such a travesty!

We have now decided that if we ever buy another house we will never buy one where there is a Home Owner's Association. We get the idea we really do; we know they are there for the good of the neighborhood and to keep your property value high and all that but we are both so sick of ours. Last year they sent us a letter about our lawn being "in need of care," and "lacking in water."

Our second letter this month came on Friday so today in hopes of avoiding the twenty five dollar fine they are threatening us with we wasted a TON of money and time because we "still have not complied in correcting an alleged violation of the Association's legal documents." Our "lawn appears to be lacking in water and is showing signs of stress and brown-out. Action must be taken to return it to a well-groomed and healthy condition."

I wish I had a before picture to show you. I don't really talk or type in all that mumbo jumbo that the HOA uses but I think you will understand my lingo a little better anyway.... this corner of our yard was D-E-A-D. The entire rest of it looks in healthy condition and well groomed as they like to say.

As we were working I told Trevor I would like to send them a letter saying I hope you have seen our new yard and I hope you are pleased, don't send us anymore letters because we aren't spending any more money on it. He said his was going to say have you watched the news lately don't you think there are better things to worry about?

This cracks me up. We don't have to worry about this and I am so grateful! Our lawn looks like a jungle at the current moment... oh well.

Your kids are getting so big! I can't believe that Alaire is crawling, that's so crazy! :D

No kidding...I thought your yard looked great... You can only do so much.....They should see ours! However, we got a letter recently from the city saying we had to trim some tree branches or else? ha!

How annoying! A couple of years ago we got a letter saying we had to fix our sidewalk cracks. One bag of kwikcrete later, it looked way way worse. But it's patched! Silly organizations. :)

I have it!!! Just rip up the grass and fill it in with gravel! save money on water, fines, and no more wasted papers. oh adn if you could please find out where exactly in your neighborhood these people I would like to get them a nice gift the next time I come and visit! I also agree with Brother watch the news you idiots. We should start emailing them news articles about all the other things in the world that are more important than a thirsty lawn.

I know a really good landscaping company that workds pretty cheap...location might be a problem though. Don't these people have anything else to do? I bet they have badges and everything! Real official.

Love the 'crawling'. Is that a girls version on the army crawl?
