All about Ellis

Ellis has been completely day time potty trained for about three months now. He even goes to the bathroom all by himself now with out us asking him if he needs to go. He has also started to tell us to go away "no come in here mom."

I'm not sure why but it really didn't even occur to me that he may be able to stay dry during naps and night time as well. I finally thought we would just give it a try and bought some pull ups and put his little training potty in his room. It has now been two and a half weeks since I bought the pull-ups and he has woken up from every single nap dry and maybe even four or five nights! I really can't believe it. I feel like so many people had told me how hard it was to potty train boys and to just wait until they are three, but I have to say it really wasn't all that bad. Don't get me wrong we had our days of five outfits in one day or the day he just ended up going underwearless because they were all in the wash, but all in all I think he has done quite well. I guess we now have one more reason why we have a big boy.

And we will finish with a few funny Ellis stories:

There is a long story behind it all that I won't share but Trevor never really calls me Cassie, its either Cass or most of the time Boo and I never call him Trevor it is almost always George. When Trevor says his goodbyes to us in the morning Ellis will give him a kiss and say with a grin "bye Georgie." He has also attempted to stop calling me mom and more and more will say "Cass, can I have some apple juice?" The "Georgie" is cute but the calling me Cass constatly doesn't fly. This morning we were looking at pictures together and he said "oh, Boo.....nooo thats mom."

Sunday I turned on the tv in hopes of catching the news before making our way out the door to church. The news wasn't on so instead we watched tennis for a few minutes while I nursed Alaire. After a few seconds Ellis turned and asked "mom why do they make that sound?" (the ugh) I explained that it was hard work and they were trying really hard. He turned around and gave me a little grin and said "Michael does that when he goes poo poo."

I taught in Ellis' Sunday School class about a month ago and then I assisted in his class 2 weeks ago; before the lesson time we sing a few songs with them and then calm them down to sit on the carpet for the lesson. On both Sundays I sang a little song I'm sure I learned from my mom the preschool teacher. The words of the song are: shake, shake, shake your sillies out, shake, shake, shake your sillies out, shake, shake, shake your sillies out and wiggle your wobbles away. The song must have made an impression on Ellis because for the last few days there have been multiple times that I have heard him in the bathroom finishing up going potty with "shake shake shake the dribbles off, shake shake shake the dribbles off" sung at the top of his lungs!

Where to begin on this one.....first I gotta say that I love the pic...And why does he have to worry about wearing underwear? Michael doesn't wear it half the time. Who cares, except for that fuzz around the penis thing. I had a little help with the song. Wish I could take credit for it but I'll have to confess, Raffi, had it out first. Cassie, you listened to it all the time when you were little. And I know for a fact that your preschool teachers played it in their classrooms. Just love me that Raffi!

HA! I tell you all we talk about all day is going to the potty. Can Ellis give Ellie some lessons? I loved your stories especially the tennis one. He is such a big boy. You are so good at all this parenting stuff are you sure you don't want 4?!

Loved your stories about Ellis! Can't believe how big these two are getting! And now Alaire is crawling! (This stuff seems to go faster with the 2nd one. Have you noticed that?)

Funny Funny Funny! That is all I can say! I was laughing out loud! I really hope that he asked Michael if he is working hard next time!

GREAT stories! And yeah for potty training!! I didn't think Turner was that hard either. I think if you wait long enough to the point that they're ready it's easier on mommies and little boys.
