Saturday was a record setting high day here and we definately enjoyed it! Ellis has been asking all winter long when we could ride our bikes to eat at "Pizza Hut" again. It is actually Black Jack but who is really keeping track?
Saturday morning we hung around the house in the early morning and then started packing up for our ride. Black Jack really hasn't been that great of a meal the last few times we tried it so we decided to pack our lunch and then have dessert at DQ after our homemade feast.
Alaire has gotten so good at her Stryder bike that she insisted that she could ride the whole way on her own. Trevor and I knew better but we did allow her to ride it through the end of the neighborhood and then he carried it on his handle bars until we were on the trail near DQ and she rode again.
Ellis did so well!! It was nearly 80 degrees by the time we got home and my legs were worn out! I told him we were really impressed with him because I thought coming home was hard and I had the luxury of changing gears but he had to just keep working his little legs and peddling. That night after the bike ride, no nap, and church in the evening he asked if he could go straight to bed. :)
In closing, I leave you with another of Alaire's outfit inventions. This ensemble consists of play high heals, a flotation wet suit that used to be her brothers, a crown and wand, hair bow bracelet, "Julie" the baby doll and her "flute."Oh good gracious!!

That girl makes me gut laugh! Where in the world does she get her fashion sense? And Ellis and his Energize Bunny legs. Put that bike ride on the list of to-do's when we get there. Michael will be all over that one. He asked me tonight if he was going to get to ride the purple bike again.
What a fun outing! Way to go ... letting Alaire feel so empowered. Ice Cream is always a great incentive!! lol

Alaire must get her "dress" sense from her cousin, Mayzee! Have you seen some of the outfits she used to put together? She does just fine now and Alaire will too! Thanks for not making this a power struggle!!!
You are making me miss Colorado even more!!! :) We haven't been above 50 yet this year! Looks like you guys had a great bike ride! And I love Alaire's outfit! Reminds me so much of Chloe! And you are such a good mom letting her be so creative! It's not easy sometimes with the things they come up with, but it makes them feel so proud of themselves! So cute!
