our random days

It has been busy around here but so much so that I haven't jumped on every few days to post. Here is a short update.

It snowed last week and then a few days after that it was sunny and bright. It was also so warm that we were able to go out in the backyard to play without our coats. It was kind of weird to be playing in the snow and not wearing coats.

After a few minutes on the swing and a little game of soccer we found some chalk that had been left outside. I showed them how bright chalk is when it is wet and then ran it to get more chalk and some paint brushes. They soaked the chalk in the snow and then rubbed and painted all over the back stoop.

Every Thursday morning the kids get together with their friends Lucas and Helen. This past Thursday it was our turn to have them over to our house. At lunch time I was having a hard time coming up with what I should make because I really needed to go to the store. I picked through the fridge and decided they might eat a bunch of random stuff if it looked fun. They ate all that was on their plates and then I gave them all of the supplies to make another food man and they filled up again!

Alaire has a baby with her every minute of the day. This morning I caught her reading her Bible to "Target" baby.

Ellis got his present from Auntie Em in the mail the other day. It was a new mummy sleeping bag and he LOVES it. He even took a nap in it on the couch the first day he got it. This was huge because we finally had to have him drop his afternoon nap. Bed time was not fun anymore so now he is nice and tired at 7 p.m.

Lots and lots of swimming for us this week too. They both love it. Trevor and I have been trying to spend some time in the pool with them without life vests. They are getting better but haven't caught the hang of it yet. Hopefully by summer they will be able to make it across the pool with no life jackets.

They are little fish for sure.

After all the creations on the stoop you need to make a print of them by putting a piece of construction paper on it and pressing down. Then let it dry. Should be really cool.

I want to come in the winter and walk around the lake in snowshoes. How cool is that going to be!
