Bringing the Outside In!

We just had some of the most fun we have ever had! I have been reading this blog for about a month now and I love everything about it. Her post today was so fun that I decided we had to try it too. I told Trevor about it and while I filled the tub with little plastic toys he loaded it with SNOW!

First I gave the kids spoons to dig around with so that they could find the treasures. Alaire couldn't believe that some of her toys were in the snow and Ellis kept dancing around with excitement singing, " It's a Happy Holiday" ??? I think it is a song off of some commercial.

Once they got bored of the digging I put food coloring in a spray bottle and let them go to town. Ellis had so much fun mixing the colors and trying to think of what colors he could make next. I'm sure it will come as no surprise that Alaire kept asking to make the snow pink.

Once we had made a very colorful pile of snow we moved on to melting the snow with cups of hot water. Ellis and I made a river bed and then they floated their bath toy boats down the river to the drain. Eventually he got into the tub and walked up and down the river.

To finish off the snow fun we built our very own indoor snowman. (That is his mustache, if you are wondering.) I turned on the shower after this photo and let them watch that hat melt off. Ellis asked me to stop after that because he wanted to see how much will melt during nap time.

If you have enough snow at your house you have to try this! We got to play and have fun with the snow but I didn't go crazy attempting to put mittens on them only to do it 5 more time while we were outside for all of two minutes! We played in the bath tub snow for two whole hours!!!

So much fun! I am totally going to try that as soon as Silas is tall enough to not fall in while he's playing. Can't believe they played for that long! love it!

that is crazy and my girls would love it... we would never have enough snow to bring it inside. it would be full of grass and mud as well. Your kids are going to beg you every time it snows:)
