Today is Trevor's 31st birthday. Since we will be busy for most of the night tonight with the students at 3.1.3 we did a little celebrating last night. His request was dinner at home (teriyaki pork tenderloin, green beans and parmaesan potatoes) and then to REI to get a new pair of shoes that he had been wanting for a while.
Trevor isn't much for sweets but according to Ellis it just isn't a birthday without a cake so we made him an Ally Pally Cake during Alaire's first nap. If you remember this is also the cake of choice for my birthday. Ellis and I followed the directions when we made it but it ended up not looking much better than the one Trevor made for me. The next time we attempt it I'm going to have to do some adjusting for the altitude I guess. Not to worry though, it tasted just as we remembered it from Cville and Mama T's oven.

Okay, this is going to sound retarded and maybe even a little weird but the first post I ever read of yours was Trevor's birthday last year, and I remember being so jealous because I was at work and you got to stay home with Ellis! And now a year later I am staying home with sweet Kendra and loving it (most of the time)!
I just had to share that with you. :)
