This has really been some kind of month for Alaire. She has done so many new things. She is eating more and more new foods and seems to love everything she tries. Her new favorites are watermelon and pickles. She will suck on both of them until they are bone dry.
She also got her first tooth about two weeks ago. She refuses to let me get a picture of it and now that I noticed that the second one broke through yesterday she will hardly even let me take a peek at them.
I would have to say that her biggest change in the last few weeks is her mobility. She is a very quick crawler now and she has already been up the full flight of stairs twice since we got home from vacation. Trevor and I were comparing the two of them in this stage and we were saying it is entirely different. We remembered in Topeka having this area between the couches that we didn't want Ellis to get into so we blocked it with a couch pillow and he left it alone. It was like it never even occurred to him that he could crawl over the pillow.....not Alaire!!
We have one gate and it is to keep her out of the kitchen. Yesterday morning Trevor decided to put a basket of blankets and a basket of toys in front of the first step so that he wouldn't have to keep getting her off of the steps. With Ellis this would have worked for a good month, with Alaire it didn't take her 5 minutes and she was over the baskets and heading up the stairs.

that picture is just too darn cute!
She's no dummy.. Maybe since you live close to the mountains she might end up being a mountian climber or something like that. You never know.
Guess you're going to have to teach her how to get down the stairs safely, since she insists on climing up them any chance she gets. (She looks so proud of herself in this picture.)
