Middle School Camp
The blog has been out of commision for about a week now because the whole family got to go up into the mountains with daddy for middle school camp. The camp we go to has an awesome cabin for families to stay in and Ellis loves sleeping in the bunk bed.
All went well, except for a little cold weather. Trevor didn't really think it was cold but in my opinion if you are wearing long sleeves or long pants in June at SUMMER camp its definately to cold. I was cracking up yesterday on the drive home when I saw a few cars that were obviously up a little higher than us that had snow on them.
We kept really busy while we were there playing on the playground, playing drums, and hanging out with all of the "kids" as Ellis calls them. Ellis also got to play a few games of basketball and tether ball with dad. During Alaire's first nap time we entertained ourselves ourside the cabin with playdough and stick building.
I haven't actually asked anyone but I'm going to guess the familie's favorites here: Ellis' would be either dancing in the back of the room during the night time worship or playing at the playground with dad. Trevor's favorite would probably be campfire or basketball with all of the kids. Alaire's favorite would be all of the attention she got. (The one picture of her is with Trevor's intern Don.) My favorite would have to be two favorites...both favorite as Trevor and I like to say....that I didn't have to cook for a week (their food is awesome) and that we got to go with daddy this time and didn't have to stay home alone.

So fun! Thanks for sharing...brought back memories of when I worked with our youth group in Gainesville, FL...loved those times with the kids-- they always seemed to open up more, when they were away for awhile. Glad you got to go and have TWO favorites!
Smiles,
andrea
Looks and sounds fun! Glad to all the pictures and read the stories. My favorite is the Ellis and stick sculpture. I agree summer camp sould be hot and gross...like Cowen.
Reminds me of our first summer at camp Hidden Haven... in Kansas after we were first married. I had always been to church camp in the Rockies. We always needed a thick sleeping bag, maybe an extra blanket, sweatshirts, coats, stuff like that for a week of camp. At Hidden Haven, I was totally shocked to be sweating and laying on top of my sleeping bag and wishing for a fan or air-conditioning!!! (Did you see any Bears while you were there?)
Glad you had such a great time together!
