To eat or not to eat
Alaire had her six month Dr. appt. yesterday. She is definately growing. She is now up to 15lbs. 11.5 ounces (25%). I know she is no chunker but I'm guessing that because she is 27.5 inches long (90%) she is going to just look like the rest of us for a while. I say a while because Trevor and I have started to notice that our clothes are shrinking, or at least that is what we have chosen to believe. Anyway, her head is starting to gain ground on Ellis' monster head. The Pediatrician even said that her head had grown but then he took one look at Ellis and said well he has a big head too now doesn't he. The only thing that I really had to discuss with him was the fact that she completely refuses to eat anything. He said that as long as she was still nursing well (which she is) that he wouldn't worry about it unless she kept refusing well into the 9th month. Just keep offering her cereal and pretty soon she will decide she wants something on a spoon. As for her refusing the bottle he told me pretty much what I already knew, that there isn't a whole lot we can do just keep trying.
Last night I tried a little cereal again and she actually took three bites before she decided to purse her lips as hard as she could. Hey at this point I will take what I can get! I can't remeber the last time I actually got her to take a bite. Today at lunch Trevor tried feeding her and she took four bites before quitting. Hopefully this means she has turned over a new leaf and wants her clothes to "shrink" right along with the rest of us.

Alaire looks so healthy. She is bright-eyed, has good color and her hair is shinny! Before you know it, she'll be eating on her own. Truly...... it could happen! Hang in there! (Is she still getting you up in the middle of the night for feedings?)
I don't even want to talk about the shrinking clothes!!!
O'ma
If you ever need encouragement in the kid-not-eating department, I'm your woman! I think Whitney is pretty well-versed in that area, too, so you're not alone. It's amazing how stubborn these sweet little kids can be. By the way, your kids are so, so adorable...the cheeks are too much!
Hey Cassi, the first food I ever gave my kids was a mashed up banana. From there I did avacado pureed and the loved them. Just an idea. Breast milk is very sweet so the banana isn't such a difference from what she's used to eating.
She looks great! I hope she starts eating for you all soon. :) Glad to hear that she is doing well!
I love the pictures of her in the Broncos outfit! She's getting so big, it's crazy! Gotta love trying to get them to eat real foods, and once you do there is no stopping them! Hopefully we'll see you in a few days.
