Jesus Prom

I know most of you reading this blog are here to check on what is going on with the little ones of the house but I just had to share a little of what the big guy here has been up to this past weekend. This Saturday Trevor and the youth group at church held a Jesus Prom for mentally handicapped people in our community. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures to share because I haven’t taken them off of his computer yet but it was a HUGE success. They had about 20 promers attended and a few of them even brought their own dates. They were greeted at the door by a student from the youth group and then taken to get their corsage/boutonniere before getting their picture taken. They were served a dinner of salad, chicken fettuccine, and cheesecake and then everybody hit the dance floor. I only got to stick around long enough to see all of the tuxes and pretty dresses and for Ellis to play with the balloon arch but since Saturday night I can’t go anywhere without someone stopping me to tell me how great of an event it was. I been sure to post a few pictures for you when I get them…..believe me they are pictures definitely worth a thousand words!

We got snow this morning so be checking for pictures of Ellis in the white stuff.

I am so looking forward to seeing pictures of the prom...you know how special all those "special" kids are to me. I'd have a house full if I had seven lives. What a great idea and I want to be added to the list of helpers next year. I can't wait for the pictures. Tell Ellis that his boots will be mailed on Thursday.

your life cracks me up!!!!!!!! ellis & trey would be a great combo. yesterday a.m. - i did the unthinkable of going potty myself while trey was awake: he climbed on washer, dumped out entire refill bottle of shout into detergent box & on washer & on floor, then squirted out bleach pen goo all over himself, washer & floor, then stirred mesh lingerie bag into detergent goop. ruined outfit, ruined detergent, no more shout, no more bleach pen, no more patience (it was 8:30a.m.) at naptime, he tells me "lay down mommy, i hold you!" soapy incident forgiven!

O'ma....
Trevor has been so busy! I don't know how he keeps track of everything let alone keep all those "plates" spinning at the same time. You are such a great help to him! Your love, encouragement and support are the glue! Thanks for doing such a great job! Can't wait to see pictures and hear more about the event. (How is the "college-visit" tour going? Hope the weather is good to them!)
Love Ya!

We had 31 promers and it was an amazing night. Not only for our guest, but also our students...they loved every minute of it. The Parents of our Promers said, if it were not for your students these guys would not be dancing...and they said, Thank You four hundred thousand times...they loved it.

Mom, I don't know if anyone told you, but I don't spin plates...I am a youth minister? And Cassie, 100% is the GLUE!

Thanks for all you do hun!

Okay, okay! So Trevor doesn't REALLY spin plates. I do remember when he spun with a tray full of plates and fell and broke his hand... during basketball season his Sr. yr. at good ol' Lamar High!

Anyway, my point was that I was proud of how he was handling all the activities involved with Youth Ministry. (Actually, I'm pretty proud of ALL our sons AND their wives and the great TEAMS they make in each of their ministries! Keep up the good work!)

(Cassie, sorry I said anything about PLATES! ... not really!)

Love Ya!
