I'm sorry to say it but these pictures are in no particular order. This has probably been the craziest week of the Oakes family thus far!! Auntie Em was here, which Ellis of course loved. I'm not sure if she will be coming back anytime soon though. She was a babysitter most of her time here, and if she wasn't doing that she was at our church with us doing one of the weeks activites....mostly making gingerbread cookies or listening to a band in the battle of the bands. We did get to go to Boulder one night and made a stop at a really cool candy store. Auntie Em taught Ellis how to blow his whistle sucker.
Alaire Trevor and I were in the live Nativity on Friday night. I really enjoyed it and since Alaire was so calm for all of it we layed her in the manger and let all of the little kids that came through touch "baby Jesus." Saturday night and Sunday she was baby Jesus again for the 4 service at church. Saturday night she cried through most of it but Sunday she was great....she cooed right on cue!
Auntie Em left of Christmas Eve but we made cookies for Santa and let Ellis open one present (pjs) before she left. Christmas morning was funny. As soon as Ellis came down the steps he saw his airplane rocker and it was pretty much over after that. We had to talk him off of it and into opening presents. He was so precious, after opening his first one he picked one up and said "Daddy's, open" He wanted us to open some too. We had a hard time expaining that they were mostly all his. He got tons of stuff, probably too much but most of it was from Oma and Opa and Wammy and Pappy. He also got to show Alaire how to open presents. He actually tried to talk her through it.
We had a great Christmas and just can't wait until both of them are running around opening presents.

oh my gosh that pic of alaire in the manger is so sweet...
these pictures are awesome! You do sound busy. The life of nativity actors sounds kind of rough. I love the airplane rocker. It looks like lots of fun!
So many comments I don't know where to begin. I turly love the pictures of the Nativity and Alaire in the manger is priceless. The lighting is awesome! And what a Christmas morning mess! Love it! Antie Em still can't be Ellis's favorite. I gotta work on getting back to CO so I can be his favorite again. I know Em had a great time. Love the hat Ellis has on and the red sleeper that Alaire has on fits really great. Michael must have been pretty big on his first Christmas with us. I remember taking his picture under Kate's tree with that on. Oh, my. Now it is transformer pj's. Trevor looks like he needs a weeks vacation to catch up on his sleep. I am sure that this is his busiest time of year...you should be used to that! Keep posting when you can. Alire looks like she is develpoing a personality now. She looks so big. Wish you all could come home for awhile and let her meet her great grandparents and Great Aunts and Uncles and all the cousins too. Someday!
O'ma.....

Ellis is such a sweetie! I love how he twists his smiles! He is simply glowing with joy and happiness! You two must be doing something right! Keep up the terrific job with Alaire, too! Hope you can all get some rest soon. Sounds like your schedule is out of control for the next few months!!!!
