These last 2 weeks have been quite the adjustment for Ellis and I. I mentioned in a prior post that he got Michael's cold and I wasn't sure if that was why he was such a grump or what. I'm sure that the cold had something to do with it but mostly it was not wanting to share Mommy with his new sister. Breastfeeding times were the worst but I think we have got it figured out for the most part now and he is back to loving her again. He loves to hold her and gives her her paci about 500 times a day.
This is something else that we picked up from Michael. Thank goodness Happy Feet came in the mail from Netflix this week. The funny thing is he always wants to sit there to watch a movie because that is where Michael had his DVD player plugged in.
I can hardly believe it but Ellis' birthday is tomorow. He can tell you that his birthday is coming up and when we would ask him what he wanted he said a bike. We bought the bike on Friday. Trevor and I are horrible about waiting so he got the bike on Saturday. Every morning since he pops up out of bed and says I ride my bike. (He actually just sits on it and says "Daddy, push you please")
I can't wait for tomorrow.I'm more excited about his birthday than I ever am about my own. I'm going to make cinnamon rolls for breakfast and he picked out a "sprinkle cake" at the grocery store. We are having Manicotti for dinner because ever since my parents were here and made the famous Jim's spaghetti all he has wanted to eat is spaghetti. I think manicotti will be close enough. We have Real Moms (like MOPS) at church in the morning and I have no idea what the rest of his birthday will entail but check back soon I'm sure I will have tons of stories and pictures.

** I have recieved lots of emails asking about my cousin Sarah Beth. Some of you know she is a day older than me and has been like another sister since birth. She was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 years ago and has been living with all that it entails since. She had brain surgery to have a tumor removed this weekend and she seems to be doing better than expected. My mom and sister got to be with her through it all so I'm sure my mom will have updates on her blog if you want more details. You could also check out Sarah's own page LOVEYOURGUTS.COM. Sarah's aunt Leigh Ann is keeping it up for her while she is in the hospital. Anyway, thank you for your continued prayers for Sarah Beth and her family.

Cassie,
I got a little teary eyed thinking about Ellis turning 2... They have grown so quickly. I know those early days are rough, but enjoy them. I think now that they are both everywhere it has gotten sometimes more crazy! Although, Anna is so happy all the time so I can't complain. Ellie is hitting the yucky "Two's" and I think I may not live somedays.. ha ha! Yes, we love our dvd player. I don't know how else you nurse without them being occupied. I lasted 6 months this time and now Anna is loving her bottle. I am loving it as well!

O'ma...
Hey...Ellis! Can't believe you're 2!!! Happy Birthday! Love his "bike" and the helmet is perfect! Not surprised that sprinkles caught his eye for his B-Day cake. It must be the crunch factor. (Looking forward to your blog about his big day.)
Sounds like feeding time can be a bit stressful. Glad Ellis is beginning to accept it....it should make those special moments with Alaire easier on all of you.

(I was so glad to hear how well Sarah Beth is doing since her surgery. She continues to be in our prayers.)
Love Ya!
