Pappy and Wammy have been here all week and we have been so busy that there has been no time for blogging. (I know that seems pretty hard to belive.) Just about as soon as they got here we gave Alaire her first bath. My mom was there when Ellis had his first bath. He loved it and let me tell you Alaire's first bath was nothing like his. She hated every minute of it!! I think this is the only picture that she wasn't screaming in.
I'm not sure what day it was but we had to make sure we went to the mountains. Michael's only wish was to play in the snow. We drove up to Estes Park and then decided to go into Rocky Mountain National Park. The pediatrician gave Alaire the okay to go up to 9,000 feet so we just prayed that there would be snow before we hit her limit. We decided we would go to a lake that dad found on our map and if we didn't find snow we would have to turn back.
The lake was really pretty. Ellis liked the little hike to find it and you wouldn't even know that Alaire was there if I hadn't unzipped my coat. She was all cozy and warm the whole time and slept through just about all of the park.
The good news was that we did find snow and Michael was able to make a snow angel. The boys even had a little snow ball fight. Ellis wasn't sure of the white stuff at first but bky the time we weree finished I was sure that he would love the winter here.
Friday Alaire went to the doctor's office to get weighed (9lbs.) and then to the hospital for her last blood drawl for genetic testing. While mom Alaire and I were at the hospital dad took the boys with him to do a little shopping at Target. They came back to get us fully prepared for Saturday's Halloween parade downtown.
This is Alaire's Halloween outfit that they got for her on their little shopping spree. It was so cold that no one really saw her outfit. She had a little fleece pink zip up outfit on over it and then she was wrapped up under my jacket again but I think her first trick-or-treat experience was a good one.
When we left we weren't sure that Ellis was going to dress up at all but we brought the cat just in case. Trevor ended up getting him to put it on when we got there.
Here we are watching the parade. Ellis, of course loved the drums. When the parade was over we walked up and down main st. getting treats from the different store owners. Trevor and I joked that my dad didn't know that he had dressed up in costume as well but he looked just like the unabomber.
My mom and I have been trying to get a good picture of Alaire to use for birth announcements. Mom seems to really like the ones where she is laying on her belly.
Again I don't remember what night it was but one night after dinner we decided to carve pumkins. We went with a pirate theme and Trevor and Ellis' pumkin has a pirate on the front of it while Michael did a flag with a skull and cross bones on it.
I just thought this was so funny and ask Em, Bryce, and Sarah.....it is a true picture of our family. We got hungry the day we went to the park so dad went in for some snacks. He came out with every pringle flavor immaginable, they were on sale.

Alaire is so sweet! And, Ellis looks so cute in his costume. The picture on her belly looks just like Layni's birth announcement picture - maybe it's true when people say they all look alike at first. :) I hope you're enjoying time with your family.

You are doing so awesome at this two kid thing! I can tell you are already a pro.. Enjoy your time with help! I love the picture of Alaire on her tummy.. She's so sweet. Mike thinks she looks a little like Trevor? So if I do get to family camp with our church it is the end of may through the first week of june..I was thinking we might stay for a long weekend with you all? However, that is only if I get to go we are still not sure if the Shelton's will be going or staying back. Have a great Monday!

O'ma...
It was such fun being with you and I know the time with your parents, Cassie, went way too fast for you! I'm glad you were able to find snow for Michael. It would have been just too sad if he couldn't have made a snow angel! How is Alaire's "cord"? Has it fallen off yet and healing ok? I miss all of you!!! Had such fun showing pictures at church Sunday! O'pa even had 4 on the screen at the beginning of his message!
Love Ya!!
