We did a little family craft project today when Trevor got home from work that involved green paint. I made sure to do it in the kitchen where we couldn't ruin any carpet and we also took all of Ellis' clothes off of him so that he wouldn't get paint all over his clothes. I even made sure to keep his paci in his mouth so that if there was a chance he got any of the paint on his hands he would not then stick them directly into his mouth. Trevor had a hold of both of his arms but at one point we both looked up and Ellis looks like he has painted himself with camo paint and his paci was painted as well! After the project we went straight to the bathtub. As you can probably see in the second picture that is where he got his first injury (excluding the time I cut his thumb when I was trying to cut his fingernails). Anyway, he was finished with his bath and we were getting him out and not only was he extra slippery but extra wiggly as well so out of our hands he went and did a little turn straight into a head bump with the tub wall. I caught him right before his head went underwater. I really think that he was scared more than hurt but now he has a little red bump with a purple center above his left eye to show for it. When it was all over with Trevor asked me how I reacted so calmly....all that I could think of was my mom when Bryce got multiple stiches to the face.

When you get tired of your mother banging your head on the tub and trying to drown you i will take you to Canada with your uncle Bryce, put a life preserver on so you wont sink give you a pole , but you will have to furnish your own hat [ the one in the picture ] we might even take your aunt Em since she might want to go
You pour little thing. At least I know your Mom learned something watching your Uncle Bryce make all those trips to the hospital. We will see how good she is when she takes out your first stitches.
This sure brings back memories of the oakes' 3 sons in their younger days. You were on the church prayer list for some injury sooooo many times!!! We promise it wasn't child abuse! Just the normal knocks of life in the parsonage fish bowl!
We're glad Cassie had such fast reflexes! (Ellis looks to have recovered well in the "mint julip" picture.)
